AI Science
Veterinary microscopy on the edge
A self built veterinary microscopy platform for fecal flotation and related sample work. Optics, microfluidic continuous flow, and on device AI from the DCI / BLEMO stack, aimed at keepers and clinics that cannot wait on a distant lab queue.
What it is
FloatScan is built for the work already happening on farms and in small clinics: fecal flotation and related microscopy, where the bottleneck is not willingness to look, it is time, optics and consistent interpretation. The instrument is meant to keep that loop local.
Low cost confocal minded optical imaging designed for the sample types keepers already prepare, not for a hospital whole slide scanner price.
Continuous flow detection so the instrument can watch material move rather than relying on a single static field every time.
Assistive inference on the edge board. The model is a second pair of eyes, not a replacement for a veterinarian or a laboratory diagnosis.
AI stack
FloatScan is the first instrument page on n3rdz.io that sits under AI Science rather than Animal Science. The mineral lines feed animals. This line reads samples. Both belong on the same site because the farm is one system.

FloatScan is in research. It is not offered as a device that diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents disease. Veterinary decisions stay with a licensed veterinarian and an accredited laboratory when those are required.
